She graduated from Czech Language for Translators and Interpreters from Charles University in Prague. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Havana.
Associate Professor at the Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI, by its Spanish initials). Specialty Department.

Career:
1962-1963: Translator of Czech at the Technical Exchange Department of the Ministry of Construction.
1963- 1965: Diplomatic Attaché, attached to the Embassy of Cuba in Prague.
1966: Specialist in Czechoslovakia, Regional Policy Division I (Socialist Countries).
1966-1967: Acting Secretary of the Regional Policy Division.
1967-1969: Specialist in Czechoslovakia.
1969-1979: Head of the Department of Central European Socialist Countries.
1973: Director ad interim of the Socialist Countries Division.
1979-1982: Head of the Soviet Union Department.
1982-83: Director ad interim of the European Socialist Countries Division.
1983-84: Deputy Director of the European Socialist Countries Division.
1984-86: Chief of Staff of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
1986-1988: Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Cuba in the Soviet Union.
1988-1991: Ambassador of Cuba in Poland.
1992: Director of Outreach and Cultural Relations.
1992-1993: Director for Europe.
1993-1999: Deputy Minister in charge of the Europe, Asia and Outreach Divisions and the International Press Center.
1999-2004: Ambassador of Cuba in Spain.
2005: Ambassador. Rector of ISRI.
