Monrovia, April 5, 2020 - This afternoon, the "Group of Liberian graduated in Cuba" sent to our embassy in Monrovia and published in the social networks its declaration condemning the blockade in view of the situation faced by our country in its fight against the global pandemic COVID-19.

The document was sent to our diplomatic mission and posted on social networks by the executive member of this group, Mr. William Wesseh, a Liberian graduate in Cuba with a degree in Electromedicine.


Sanctions should not impede coronavirus fight, EU diplomat says

Sanctions should not stop the delivery of medical equipment and supplies to countries trying to contain outbreaks of coronavirus, the EU’s top diplomat has said.

Josep Borrell, the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs, made his comments in a declaration on Friday in which he backed the UN’s call for an immediate global ceasefire to allow the world to focus on the pandemic.

“The European Union also stresses that sanctions should not impede the delivery of essential equipment and supplies necessary to fight the coronavirus and limit its spread worldwide,” he said.

US blocks medical aid to Cuba in show of ‘wild west brutality’

CUBA has blasted the continuing US economic blockade warning of a “violation of human rights” after a shipment of vital medical aid from China was stopped from reaching the country on Tuesday.

Washington was accused of acting with “Wild West brutality,” using the Covid-19 outbreak as an opportunity to “strangle the Cuban Revolution.”

“Cuba denounces the fact that medical supplies from Alibaba Foundation to help combat Covid-19 have not arrived in the country due to the criminal US blockade against the island nation,” President Miguel Canel-Diaz blasted.

When Jack Ma, the founder of Chinese electronics giant Alibaba and the foundation that bears his name announced to the world his intent to donate 500,000 COVID-19 rapid tests to the U.S. and a million masks, overlooking the xenophobic and racist slurs of the current Present, he had already done so for countries such as Japan, South Korea, Italy, Iran, and Spain. These were then considered to be the most at-risk countries.

Welcome Message to the Cuban Medical Brigade, and in recognition of the will of all Cuban health care professionals in Jamaica to support the Jamaican people’s fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

On March 23, a brigade of 138 health care professionals from the Republic of Cuba, trained in coping with disasters and serious epidemics, arrived in Jamaica to join the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 virus / COVID - 19.


No New COVID-19 Case Reported in the last 24 hours in Zambia-Health Minister

Lusaka Times, 2 April 2020. Health Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya has disclosed that Zambia has not recorded a new COVID-19 case in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, President Edgar Chagwa Lungu authorises government to recruit 3,400 health workers to curb spread of Covid-19 in Zambia.

During the twelfth COVID-19 update Wednesday afternoon Dr Chilufya said no new case has been recorded out of the 99 individuals that underwent testing and the number of confirmed cases still stands at 36.

Venezuela expresses from Vietnam its support for Cuban health internationalism

The Embassy of  Venezuela in Vietnam expressed its recognition to the Cuban health internationalism , through a message on social networks in support of the Caribbean country medical missions.

"Venezuela knows very well that Cuba saves lives. Long live Cuban solidarity ! Long live Fidel! We will always be grateful for the help and love from the Cuban people, ” the Bolivarian representation said on  Twitter, on behalf of the diplomatic staff of the Embassy and its military attaché.
