
Cuba deposited today the instrument of ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty
New York, 4 February 2021. By signing and ratifying today the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), Cuba reaffirms its commitment to nuclear disarmament and to the complete and effective ban on all nuclear tests, including nuclear explosions, subcritical tests and other sophisticated methods.
Cuba called for strengthening multilateralism, international cooperation and solidarity among the member countries of the Group of 77 and China in the face of a complex international scenario, when participating today at the handover ceremony of the Chairmanship of the Group, which was led by the Cooperative Republic of Guyana during 2020.
Cuban Ambassador Pedro L. Pedroso, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the world organization, denounced that while governments around the world work tirelessly to fight the pandemic, Israel continues the occupation of the Palestinian territory, expanding its annexation policy and increasing its illegal and colonizing practices and measures.
