During the COVID-19 pandemic, Cuba did not stop its legislative activity, according to Juan Antonio Quintanilla, ambassador and permanent representative of the island to international organizations based in Geneva, Switzerland. In his speech at the Forum of Democracies, Quintanilla said that the said legislative activity will continue after the country entered the new normal on November 15.

Cuba's permanent representative to the UN in Geneva, Juan Antonio Quintanilla, called on monday at the Human Rights Council to prioritize cooperation and solidarity as fundamental responses of the international community to face the pandemic. 'We ratify that cooperation and solidarity will never be empty words for Cuba, but the way to successfully face the complex challenges that the human species has before it', he stressed while intervening in an interactive dialogue on the State response to pandemics, within the framework of the 47th session of the Council.

Ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso Cuesta, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, condemned this monday the United States government's attempt to flagrantly violate Cuban sovereignty with regard to national competence to regulate the flow of information and the use of mass media.
