H.E. Ms. Liurka Rodriguez Barrios, Ambassador of Cuba to Cambodia, was received by Minister of Justice H.E. Koeut Rith at the ministry’s office in Phnom Penh on Tuesday. Both sides cheered the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relation between the two countries and look forward to fostering collaboration in the near future. The Minister remarked that Cuba was the first country in Latin America to report a candidate vaccine against the disease of Covid-19.

Dr. Filimon Manoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) expressed his gratitude for the invariable willingness of Cuba to cooperate with the region, especially in the confrontation with COVID19, by receiving the Ambassador of Cuba in Fiji, Carlos Manuel Rojas Lago, in the headquarters of that Organization. Both examined the existing potential to strengthen political dialogue and the multifaceted ties between both parties, considering that the Caribbean nation holds the status of Forum Dialogue Partner.

China and Cuba on Friday presented a special edition of a tea variant, in the context of the commemorative plan for the advent of their 60 years of diplomatic relations. Upon thanking the gesture, Cuban ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira wished that it would contribute to perpetuating the friendship and fraternity between the two socialist nations in the future.

Cuba's alternate permanent representative to the UN, Ana Silvia Rodriguez, paid tribute on Friday to the victims of terrorist crimes against the island, in actions promoted and financed by the US government. On the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, the ambassador recalled on Twitter that this scourge has cost the lives of 3,478 people on the island and caused the mutilation of 2,999.
