Both sides cheered the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relation between the two countries and look forward to fostering collaboration in the near future. The Minister remarked that Cuba was the first country in Latin America to report a candidate vaccine against the disease of Covid-19.

Cuba's alternate permanent representative to the UN, Ana Silvia Rodriguez, paid tribute on Friday to the victims of terrorist crimes against the island, in actions promoted and financed by the US government. On the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism, the ambassador recalled on Twitter that this scourge has cost the lives of 3,478 people on the island and caused the mutilation of 2,999.
