Cuba and Turkey ratify expansion of their economic and commercial ties

TURKEY, September 18, 2018. The Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkey, Mr. Fatih Metin, received at his Ministry headquarters the Cuban ambassador, Luis Alberto Amorós Núñez. Both representatives addressed aspects of bilateral economic and trade relations, agreed on the potential of their countries for increasing these exchanges and pledged to continue working to achieve it.

During the cordial meeting, the Turkish leader highlighted the growth of the aforementioned ties and ratified the interest of his government to maintain this development. He also confirmed the participation of a delegation from his country in the upcoming International Fair of Havana, with a view to continue expanding these relations.

For his part, the Caribbean diplomat thanked the commitment of participation in the fair and Turkish support against the blockade to the Cuban people, detailed aspects of the bilateral economic agenda and referred to the updating of the economic model, the constitutional debate and new business opportunities in his country. He also conveyed congratulations to the new Turkish Minister of Commerce, Ms. Ruhsar Pekcan, on behalf of her Cuban counterpart, Mr. Rodrigo Malmierca. (Cubaminrex/Embacuba Turkey)
